
Susan Oetgen earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Catholic University of America in 1999, and has since been creating and performing new music and experimental theater and dance with ensembles as varied as the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Anti-Social Music, Accinosco, Gloria Deluxe, the Howard Fishman Quartet, Daniel Burkholder/The Playground, Discoteca Flaming Star, and her own experimental pop ensemble, Likeness to Lily. Susan's music has been performed on the Music with a View series at The Flea Theater, the Live Arts Collaboration Salon Series at University Settlement, and at the Vermont Arts Exchange's Basement Music Series. She is a participant in the Brooklyn Philharmonic's 2007-2008 Composer Mentorship Program and appeared as composer/performer in a world-premiere song-cycle with Likeness to Lily and BP chamber musicians in their Music off the Wall Series at the Brooklyn Museum in March 2008. She is a recipient of a Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Award and an Associate Artist residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
